"Tunes
from the Life and Land of Robert
Burns"
Alasdair
Fraser(fiddle), Muriel Johnstone
(Piano), Natalie Haas (Cello)
This long-awaited
second CD in Alasdair Fraser's "Legacy
of the Scottish Fiddle" series
takes a fresh & richly satisfying
look at the fiddle tunes that inspired
the songs of Scotland's greatest
poet, Robert Burns.
The brilliant trio of master fiddler Alasdair Fraser,
renowned Scottish pianist Muriel Johnstone, & rising-star
cellist Natalie Haas recreate tantalizing jigs,
sweet airs, soul-stirring marches & rousing
reels--the music Robert Burns would have used to
flirt, dance, sob & sing.
Includes glorious instrumental renditions of "Scot's
Wha' Hae", "A Man's a Man for A' That," "My
Love is Like a Red, Red Rose," "Green
Grow the Rashes O" et al. in their original
fiddle versions.

After a
highly successful tour
of Scotland and new England
Alasdair and Natalie Haas
will be touring their album Fire
and Grace in various locations
in the South East and Mid-West
US - followed by another short
trip to Spain. Hope to see you
there!
Alasdair sends
greetings to all the folks I met
at the various camps I taught at
this summer, beginning with the Ceilidh
Trails School in Cape Breton,
then the Goderich
Festival in Ontario, followed
by my own Alasdair
Fraser Fiddle Course on the Isle
of Skye and of course the ever-popular Valley
of the Moon camp in California.
Coming up in January
2005 look for details soon on the
Alasdair Fraser Fiddle Course to
be held once again at the prestigious
Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow,
Scotland, to be followed by the Mastery
of Scottish Arts Winter School at
the Seabeck Conference Center near
Seattle.
Alasdair and Natalie
had a fine trip to Spokane for the
Western Arts Alliance convention
and would like to thank all those
in attendance at the showcase events.
